2. Radiohead's Pablo Honey, Part 1

Is Radiohead's 1993 debut album an underappreciated gem or a blemish on an otherwise spotless discography? The two make their way through the first half, where they drop some surprisingly strong opinions about the band's most popular song, which may lead to an unprecedented amount of hate mail. Along the way, Austin ponders whether "The Air I Breathe" has creepier lyrics than "Creep." Nick becomes despondent while describing his least favorite track.

Songs Discussed:

5:35 - "You"

6:05 - "Creep"

22:33 - "How Do You"

25:47 - "Stop Whispering"

31:40 - "Thinking About You"

33:30 - "Anyone Can Play Guitar"

40:22 - "Ripcord"

About the Podcast

Anyone Can Play Guitar
Learning every Radiohead song on guitar in order
Listen along as a food critic in Chicago and a Latin teacher in Switzerland make their way through the Radiohead catalog, learning how to play every song on the guitar. To prove they've put the time in, they're forcing themselves to record versions of each track to play for all to judge. Armed with this knowledge, they'll discuss each song, while simultaneously admitting to potentially embarrassing personal stories from more than 20 years of Radiohead fandom.

As a guide, we are following the Radiohead Complete: Lyrics & Chords (Faber Edition). What we can't learn there, we'll be looking up on sites like Ultimate Guitar and Songsterr.

I've trained for this music podcast by teaching Latin and English in German in Switzerland for the past nine years. I ride my bike a lot, but not for fun. I live in the same apartment as my wife and two sons.

Like all good music podcast hosts, I have been a food and dining reporter for the Chicago Tribune since 2016. Most days I can be found eating a questionable number of meals for research purposes.
